Joint Accounts

Deposits held jointly have separate protection from other types of deposit accounts.

Also, joint accounts held with different account holders have separate protection at US$100,000 collectively and not US$100,000 per joint account holder.

VIDIC’s deposit insurance total protection would be $400,000 in total:

$100,000 for Norma’s individual account

$100,000 for Norma and husband’s joint accounts. (where two or more individuals are joint owners of two or more accounts, the sum of those accounts shall be insured to a maximum of One Hundred thousand dollars).

$100,000 for Norma, husband and son’s joint account

$100,000 for Norma, husband and daughter’s account
